JAMIATUL ULAMA KZN DAILY Q&A
Nasihah (Advice): – The Qur’an purifies the heart:
When reciting the Qur’an, one intention to make is that your recitation must be a means of polishing and cleansing your heart. In the Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Hearts become corroded with rust (spiritual rust) like how iron becomes corroded by rust.” The Sahabah enquired, “What will remove this rust O Prophet of Allah?” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied, “The recitation of the Qur’an.” (Hilyatul Awliya)

A. Regardless of the food being Halaal or not, it is not permissible for Muslims to eat at such a restaurant. The fact that alcohol is being served at the same restaurant casts a shadow of doubt on the Halaal status of the food. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) has prohibited partaking of meals from the table where alcohol is being served.
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdillah (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
“Whoever truly believes in Allah and the day of Judgment, he will not sit at a table where alcohol is served” (Musnad Ahmed, Hadith #:14651)
Based on this Hadith, the Fuqahaa (jurists) have ruled that it is not permissible to eat at a venue where alcohol is being served.
There is no such thing as ” Halal Friendly “
