PROJECT H.E.L.P –  HIGHWAY HOSPICE

The Jamiat KZN PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team in collaboration with its Skills Development Centre’s sister volunteers from Muslimah Charity Network, visited the Highway Hospice in Sherwood, Durban on 7th December 2017.

The Highway Hospice provides a service designed to improve the quality of life for patients with a terminal illness and support for their families with no expectation of payment.

Highway Hospice outpatients are picked up from various areas around Durban and brought in weekly on Thursdays for a treat at the centre.

On this particular Thursday, the PROJECT H.E.L.P. relief team provided the treat and distributed hygiene packs and food hampers to each of the patients, nurses and support staff.

The hygiene packs consisted of a face cloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, Vaseline, a sachet of Omo washing powder, deodorant and body lotion.

The food hampers contained cooking oil, sugar, biscuits, long life milk, juice, tin fish, tin beans, jam, tuna, rice, tea bags, flour, jelly powder and a fruit cocktail syrup.

The team received many heartfelt prayers made with tears of joy and appreciation.

May Allah Ta’ala use our humble efforts as a means of attracting them towards Islam and may He accept the contributions of our donors and the efforts of all involved, Aameen.
